If you have missed paying your rent your landlord may threaten to evict you. Receiving a notice is the first stage in this process. The type of notice you receive will depend on the type of tenancy you have. If your landlord is a housing association or local authority, you should receive a notice called NPRP (this stands for “Notice of Proceedings for Recovery of Possession”). If you have a private tenancy, the notices are called a “Notice to Quit” and an AT6. By serving a valid notice upon you, your landlord becomes entitled to take you to court at the end of the notice period. You cannot be evicted just because a notice has been served upon you. Your landlord requires a court order to evict you.

In January 2009, the Scottish Government announced it was committing an
extra £10m to this initiative, as well as the new Shared Equity Scheme, which
enables the Scottish Government to take a financial stake in a debtor’s home.
Both of these initiatives are collectively known as the Home Owners Support
Fund. The fund has £35m pledged to it over two years, 2009/11.
The Shared Equity Scheme was launched on 16 March 2009, along with an
improved Mortgage to Rent Scheme. The new schemes introduced new
eligiblity criteria including:
Mortgage to Rent
- Failure to reach agreement with lender on managing your arrears;
- New maximum property values based on the lowest 25% of property
prices in regions across Scotland;
- Have been unable to make full mortgage payments for three months with
at least one month owing;
- Must be ineligible for help through UK Government Schemes including
income support for mortgage interest;
- Generally have less than 25% equity in your home.
Shared Equity
- For shared equity you must hold at least 25% equity in your home;
- Have a capital and interest mortgage (i.e. not an endowment);
- Own a property which is above the Tolerable Standard.

Murcia; The fastest growing region in Spain. Murcia has got an economical growth rate that is above the Spanish medium.
The increase in property values have been higher in recent years in Murcia than in Spain overall. Even so, property prices in Murcia still have not reached the levels of the other Spanish regions such as for example Costa Blanca and Costa del Sol. Average prices in Murcia in 2007 were 14% below the average price of property in Spain.

A Celebration of Social Enterprise at the Scottish Parliament took place on Thursday 25th October 2007, Foster Care Connect and the STIR network cluster conducted a Celebration of Social Enterprise at the Scottish Parliament, hosted by Jeremy Purvis, MSP.
A brilliant night was had by all – well done Denise we are all so proud of you.
Denise Gilhooley Director Foster Care Connect – advised Foster Care Connect provides high quality foster care placements for children in the care of Local Authorities.
At Foster Care Connect we recruit foster carers who are able to meet the needs of children with complex needs, often referred to as children who are “difficult to place”.
At Foster Care Connect we recognise that children placed with our cares will be extremely challenging and that in order to support our carers to help children achieve their potential, we work very closely with the Local Authority from where a child has their origins, to ensure that the child and the carer has a whole range of services which are readily accessible. We offer our carers an excellent support package to enable them to effectively carry out their role, including 24-hour support, regular visits form a qualified experienced social worker and training to meet the demands of the job.
